Israel files a complaint to the UN Security Council against Lebanon
Israel submitted a complaint to the UN Security Council after rockets were fired from the border areas in Lebanon towards the Palestinian territories.
In the letter, the Israeli ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said that Israel considers the Lebanese government responsible for everything that happens on its territory, and that Hezbollah’s attacks may lead to massive devastation and destruction for Lebanon.
With these actions, the Israeli ambassador indicated that Hezbollah is trying to divert the attention of internal public opinion from its responsibility for the collapse of the Lebanese state, as he said.
For its part, the Lebanese government condemned the Israeli attacks on its territory, and considered them, in a letter to the UN Security Council, hostile acts and a flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and Security Council Resolution 1701.
