To support Syrian refugees.. Turkey and the United Nations are discussing ways to coordinate cooperation
Yesterday, Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Sedat Unal met with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths, to discuss cooperation between Turkey and the United Nations.
This came during a meeting between the two of them in the capital, Ankara, to discuss how to deliver humanitarian aid to Syria.The Turkish Foreign Ministry said, in a tweet: “Sadat Unal met Griffiths, in the capital, Ankara.”
The ministry added: “During the meeting, gratitude was emphasized for the close and advanced cooperation between Turkey and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.”
She stressed that the two sides (Onal and Griffiths) reviewed the efforts made to meet the humanitarian needs of the Syrians, and the joint work between Turkey and the United Nations.
The ministry added, “Opinions were exchanged on Yemen and Afghanistan, and the importance of improving the humanitarian situation in these two countries was emphasized.”
During his meeting with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths in the Turkish capital, Ankara, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin called for the international community to move to end the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
