Shoigu: All Russian military leaders took part in the fighting in Syria
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed that forces from his country’s army, represented by the leaders of brigades, regiments, divisions, armies, commanders of military districts and chiefs of staff, in addition to battalion commanders, have participated in the military operation in Syria in support of the Assad regime.
Shoigu said, “The Russian military pilots have acquired high combat experience due to their participation in military operations in Syria.”
He added that more than 90% of them have had great combat experience, and that some of them have carried out more than 400 sorties.
Shoigu claimed that his country’s army has become a different army than before, according to Russia 1 channel.
Earlier this year, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that his country’s forces had tested 316 types of Russian weapons since its intervention in Syria in late 2015.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken, a few days ago, about the ability of the Russian forces to repel air attacks by drones, after gaining combat experience in Syria.
It is noteworthy that the Russian military intervention in favor of the Assad regime, since 2015, has caused massacres committed by the Russian forces against civilians and mobilized hundreds of thousands of them as a result of the “scorched earth” policy before any military action by the Assad regime forces with Russian support.
