66 New COVID-19 cases were recorded in northern Syria
Today, Thursday, the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning and Epidemic Response Network announced the registration of 66 New COVID-19 cases, distributed over the regions of Idlib and Aleppo, northwest Syria.
The laboratory added that the total number of infections in northern Syria reached 92,286, with 2,253 deaths, and 62,758 recoveries.
The total number of infections in the “Spring of Peace” areas, after recording an escalation in the number of infections, reached 10,960, 81 deaths and 31,621 recovery cases, and this comes after repeated warnings of a wide pandemic outbreak in the liberated areas.
The coronavirus infection rate has previously risen in northern Syria, and this has led to an increase in the occupancy rate in hospitals, especially in the intensive care departments. The vaccination coverage rate in northwestern Syria is still low, and work must be done to increase the demand for vaccination to raise the percentage of vaccinated people.
It is noteworthy that coronavirus death toll is rising on a daily basis in Syria, while warnings about the repercussions of the pandemic outbreak are mounting in the regions of northern Syria due to the overcrowding in the region, especially in the displacement camps.
