Turkish Interior Minister: There is no hope for the end of war in Syria at the present time
Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu shared detailed information about the Syrian refugees on Turkish territories and their desires to return to Syria, if the situation continues as it is, or ends.
The Turkish newspaper, Haberlar, reported in its news, that according to the list prepared for Syrian refugees mentioned by Minister Soylu in his statement today, Istanbul city ranks first among the provinces in the number of Syrians, as their numbers in the city recently reached 535 thousand, and the second place is Gaziantep state, where the state contains about 461,000 Syrians, followed by Hatay state with 433,000 and Urfa with 428,000 Syrians, as translated by the “Turkey in Arabic” website.
He continued: The percentage of Syrians who have criminal records or problems is only 1.3%, and the following is an explanation of the percentages of each category of Syrians and what they want:
3.1% do not intend to return to Syria in any way.
28.2% of them say, “If the war ends and a government is formed as I want, I will return.”
13.7% of them said, “I will return even if the war ends and a government I do not want is formed.”
While 12 percent said they would return if a safe zone was established, 38 percent had not made a decision yet, and 4.1 percent said they would return even if the war continued.
Minister Soylu touched on the situation in Syria, pointing out that there is no hope for a solution to the problems and the end of the war in Syria at the present time.
The Turkish Interior Minister, Suleiman Soylu, announced last September that 462,000 Syrians have returned to the liberated areas through the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations, stressing that Turkey is still encouraging the voluntary return of Syrians to their country.
