The World Health Organization reveals its intention to secure a Corona vaccine for five million Syrians next month
Yesterday, Wednesday, the World Health Organization revealed its intention to deploy teams specialized in implementing a program of vaccination against Corona virus in all Syrian regions, next April.
According to the news agency “Reuters”, the representative of the World Health Organization, Dr. “Akjamal Magtimova”, said: “The organization’s” COVAX “program is planning to inject 5 million Syrians throughout the country, regardless of the dominant forces in the region,” as she put it.
Magtimova added that the organization’s plan to deploy the vaccine is being prepared with Syrian health authorities, to ensure that the program is running properly.
She explained, “The priority will be first to vaccinate health workers at risk, social service providers, and the most vulnerable groups.”
The World Health Organization has confirmed that it aims to provide 2.3 billion vaccines around the world by the end of 2021, including 1.8 billion free doses for poor countries.
