Coronavirus vaccination campaign launched in Idlib Governorate
Today, Saturday, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 began in Idlib Governorate, preceded by a vaccination session targeting a group of Health Directorate staff, the Syria Vaccine Team and the Syrian Civil Defense.
Imad Zahran, the official of the media office in the Idlib Health Directorate, explains to Farsh, “On Thursday April 29, the Idlib Health Directorate and the Syria Vaccine Team held a special conference to launch the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in Idlib Governorate.”
Zahran explained that a preparatory vaccination session preceded the conference, in which 11 cadres from the Health and Civil Defense Directorate and the Syria Vaccine Team were vaccinated.
“The campaign officially begins today, the first Saturday of May, and continues for a period of three weeks, with the aim of targeting the cadres working in the health field within the governorate,” Zahran said.
On the mechanism of work, Dr. Hussam Qarah Muhammad, responsible for the Corona file, says to Fresh, “There are 35 centers distributed in the governorate, and 59 side effects doctors and a scientific committee consisting of 3 consultant doctors, we have obtained 53,800 doses.”
“The vaccine is safe and licensed by the EMA, the European Vaccine Agency, as it is expected that it will witness a good turnout of citizens after its launch,” Al-Muhammed added.
On Wednesday, April 21, Idlib Health Directorate and the Syrian Vaccine Team received the first batch of the Covid-19 vaccine, which includes 53,800 doses of the British Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.
