The Syrian Coalition welcomes the joint complaint submitted by the Netherlands and Canada against the Assad regime
The Syrian National Coalition (SOC) welcomed the joint complaint submitted by the Netherlands and Canada against the Assad regime at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over committing crimes of torture against Syrians, using chemical weapons, arresting civilians and committing gross human rights violations.
The (SOC) praised in a Facebook post this initiative by Netherlands and Canada, pointing out to the importance of such steps despite its delay.
The (SOC) appreciated all the effective international efforts to hold Assad regime accountable for committing thousands of war crimes against the civilians in Syria.
The (SOC) emphasized that it is important for the international community to take firm measures to hold Assad regime accountable and do justice to millions of victims and achieve the political transition in Syria in accordance with the resolution 2254.
The (SOC) pointed out that the crimes committed by the Assad regime and its allies have made the Syrians’ memory full of death and tragedies, and these crimes cannot be forgotten over time as the Assad regime continues to commit one crime after another against the Syrians.
Canada and the Netherlands have filed a complaint against the Assad regime at the International Court of Justice for committing crimes against the Syrian people.
