To discuss the latest developments in Syria.. The Syrian Coalition meets the French Ambassador in Turkey
The head of the Syrian National Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, announced his meeting with the French ambassador to Turkey Herve Francois, inside the French embassy in Ankara, within the framework of the political and diplomatic efforts undertaken by the National Coalition to activate all the baskets in International Resolution 2254, headed by the Transitional Governing Body.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Ruba Habboush, Secretary of the Political Authority Riad Al-Hassan, Coordinator of the Department of Foreign Relations Abd Ahad Astifou, and the official of the National Coalition Office in Ankara Ahmed Bakoura.
The two sides discussed developments on the ground in Syria, the suffering of the displaced in the camps, the Assad regime’s continued reliance on the military approach, and the launch of continuous military attacks on civilian areas in the liberated areas and the recent escalation in southern Syria.
In a tweet on Twitter, Hariri said: “The international community must reject the illegal elections through which the Assad regime seeks to undermine the political process and empty it of its content.”
He added: “We explained to them the health situation in Syria, especially in the areas controlled by the Assad regime, which are witnessing a large spread of the Corona virus, due to the Assad regime’s failure to contain this pandemic.”
The head of the National Coalition stressed the need to activate all the paths of Resolution 2254, on top of which is the path of establishing the Transitional Governing Body, noting that the Syrian Constitutional Committee is an important part of the solution, but it is not a complete solution.
Yesterday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşolu announced that he would meet Nasr Hariri, in Ankara, along with the head of the Syrian negotiating committee, Anas Al-Abdeh, and the head of the Syrian interim government, Abdurrahman Mustafa, to discuss the Syrian file.
