Russia announces carrying out 230 airstrikes in north-west Syria during the last October

Russia announced that it carried out 230 airstrikes on northwest Syria, in response to targeting the military college in Homs city on October 5, 2023.

The deputy head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, Vadim Kulit, said that the “Russian warplanes carried out 230 airstrikes against targets outside Assad regime’s control in north-west Syria, in response to targeting the military college in Homs.

This announcement came during a Syrian-Russian press conference in Damascus Tuesday on November 7, about the attack on the military college and responding to it.

Kulit made it clear that more than 900 artillery missions by Russia and Assad regime targeted terrorists’ sites.

The director of the political department at the Assad regime government, Hassan Suleiman, claimed that “the aggressive attack carried out by his forces with the participation of Russia resulted in the destruction of all targeted positions and headquarters.”

The Syrian Civil Defence documented the killing of 66 civilians and injuring more than 270 others in north-west Syria during the previous October due to the aggressive and military escalation by the Assad regime forces and Russia.

The statistics stated that most attacks were concentrated on the public facilities and civilian houses in more than 70 cities and towns, pointing out to targeting 13 schools and 7 medical facilities in addition to popular markets, health centers, mosques, and camps.
