Missiles target the Golan and Israel retaliates with an airstrike on Syria’s southern positions

The Israeli army announced in a post on “X” platform on Sunday, October 29, that it carried out an airstrike on Assad regime’s positions in Daraa countryside, southern Syria, in response to a missile shelling targeted the occupied Golan.

A videoclip attached to the post showed an Israeli bombardment targeting a military location inside the Syrian territories.

The “Ahrar Houran Gathering” news website affirmed that two missiles were launched from “Tal al-Jamou” military base affiliated to the Assad regime forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia near Nawa city in western Daraa towards the occupied Syrian Golan.

The website stated that the Israeli army targeted the source of the missile attack in “Tal al-Jamou”, which led to the fall of two shells on the plains connecting Nawa city with Tasil town in western Daraa.

The website pointed out that the Israeli shelling coincided with an Israeli warplane flew heavily over Daraa province.

Incidents of launching missiles from southern Syria into the occupied Golan have been repeated in the past three weeks, as anonymous persons in the Daraa countryside two days ago fired rocket shells towards the Golan. It is the fourth incident of its kind since the start of the war launched by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
